James McEnerney from Bath, formerly of Walcot Reclamation and Walcot Architectural Salvage, has died aged 56. He started at Walcot Reclamation of Bath in the early 1980s and worked his way to becoming front desk manager at Walcot Yard assisting Rick Knapp and others in handling customers, sales, buying and deliveries, of everything from top end architectural antiques to reclaimed building material and architectural salvage.

James moved with Walcot Rec when it relocated to a yard in Bathampton prior to its demise in 2009, and then took over the yard and set up Walcot Architectural Salvage Ltd in 2010 in partnership with Cary Morgan and Dave Janes who had run Walcot Rec's heavy materials depot in the Lower Bristol Road, Bath. Walcot Architectural Salvage folded in 2017 after which James became self-employed.

James devoted the greater part of his working life to the reclamation and sale of architectural salvage during which it could be estimated that he personally contributed to the saving of several thousands of tonnes of carbon emissions. He was helpful, friendly, tolerant, mentally sharp and witty.

James Brendon Anthony McEnerney's funeral will be held at 12:30pm on Monday 5 December 2022 at Upper Chapel, Haycombe Cemetery, Whiteway Road, Bath BA2 2RQ
