Yesterday Channel begin a new salvage television series, Restoration Workshop from 18th August 2020 at 8pm. The series features dealer and restorer, Gary Wallis and team 'on their quest to buy items with the hidden potential and turn it into great items with potential'. The first episode features a World War 1, Grenadier guard's drum conversion to a table. Also featured a spectacular 18th century hand carved mirror which once hung in Buckingham Palace; sourced by Gary at auction.

When asked about his favourite part of the job Gary said, 'If I had a choice, I would spend my whole time on the hunt really. To me, finding and sourcing the stuff, you know, I find that very inspiring and I get the biggest buzz from finding something amazing. The selling is just kind of a necessity.'

Gary himself trades from a 4,000 square foot warehouse in Henley on Thames and at well chosen fairs. This year he is also organising the Henley Decor fair 11th to 13th September, Greenlands Park, Henley on Thames, RG9 3AU. 'A festival of home, garden and lifestyle with food, music and atmosphere.' See henleydecorfair.com for more information.

Gary in a previous Salvo interview said that despite thirty years of experience he continues to learn something new everyday.
