The Bath Decorative Antiques Fair and Bath Vintage & Antiques Market came together to Style Up Sunday with a century mash up tour of the two events guided by Edd Thomas, chair of Antiques Young Guns. If you missed it, the woman behind Bath's Vintage & Antiques Market, Naomi Knight is offering a second instalment of century mash ups this Sunday 12th March at the launch of a new market called Vintage Vauxhall. Located in the former fire engine workshops of the London Fire Brigade in South London, Vintage Vauxhall will take place on the second Sunday of every month.
The Bath Decorative Antiques Fair peaked early for me with the prosecco tour and BBC Antiques Roadshow expert Judith Miller, who gave great gossip about Staffordshire dogs sold to men in pubs to take home to their wives for forgiveness over their drunkenness. I swear the prosecco had worn off, but perhaps Judith's story inspired me not to come home to the husband empty handed, so I bought the polish hands pictured from Simon Wharton Antiques.
Exhibitors at this year's Bath Decorative Antiques Fair had a particularly packed edit of great decorative and garden antiques and interesting architectural pieces with Salvo exhibitors such as Antiques By Design, Elham Antiques, Lynda North Antiques, La Place Antiques, John Read-Smith Antiques and No.1 Lewes. Sold signs and smiles all round.
