Antiques By Design, currently exhibiting at its usual spot in the Battersea Decorative Antiques and Textiles Fair, was featured last week on BBC1 and will be appearing again on two different programmes six times over the next few weeks.

Last week Guy Trench of ABD bought an overpriced distinctive kidney-shaped vintage chrome MG Magnette radiator grille from Bargain Hunter, auctioneer and teapot collector, Christina Trevanion, for conversion into a mirror for a car enthusiast on BBC1 daytime, Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is. Trevanion sold the grille for £90 to Trench on the show - slightly more than Guy wanted to pay (see photo). A forthcoming episode features the recrafting of an electric blue vintage petrol.

Mr. Trench is also on five forthcoming episodes of BBC1, Money For Nothing with Sarah Moore, where items rescued from a council recycling tip are upcycled into allegedly desirable gems. The 'profit' from each sold item is given back to the original tipper who was throwing away the item in the first place. This programme is now in its second series.
