It has taken two years, publicity in The Sun newspaper, and two runs of TV's Seeking Salvage, but Ribble Reclamation has finally sold its giant Jimmy Carr head to the Wickerman festival near Dumfries where it will be used as a bar for up to 10 people.

Katie Johnson of Ribble Rec said that they did not miss having the head in the yard because it's still there. The deal has been done but Ribble Rec was waiting to hear when Wickerman wanted the giant head to be delivered.

According to The Sun, Paul Johnson and Dale Sumner of Ribble paid £2,000 for the head in 2011 and it was then placed on eBay with an auction reserve of £3,000 but failed to sell. The sales price has not been disclosed.

"We made a small profit on the head but glad to see it go to somewhere it will be put to good use," Katie Johnson said. "The festival organisers were planning to turn it into a bar, so people will notice it from across the site and pop over for a drink. Dale said after the TV series that there was only room for one big head in the yard and he and Paul had been fighting for the spot."

Apparently Paul originally bought the head thinking it was President Nixon. A few customers had thought of turning it into a tree house and somebody also mentioned an outdoor toilet.
