Bob Moller of WGN Radio 'The Voice of Chicago' catches up with a cheerful Stuart Grannen during his recent three day auction at the biggest architectural antiques store in the USA, the 80,000 sq ft of showrooms at Architectural Artifacts. He discusses some 22ft limestone columns salvaged from a Chicago building. "How many pieces in each column," asks Bob. "Seven or eight," answers Stuart.

Traditionally columns are made from an uneven number of drums - an even number of drums just does not look right - as salvage dealers might know. But Stuart is not a salvage dealer. "No, we're not a salvage store," he told Huffington Post.

His favourite architect is Louis Sullivan. "People said 'Louis, you're done', and he suffered for it, and was penniless, but in the end he was sort of vindicated I suppose. He was this genius. He stood up for what he knew was right. I just like that."
