Glasgow Wood
Rescuing between 700 to 900 tonnes of timber each year, Glasgow Wood is a charity and social enterprise committed to creating a more healthy and sustainable population and planet.
They improve the health of our planet by reusing and rehousing timber, preventing huge quantities of this valuable resource from being sent to landfill. From reclaimed scaffold boards, Glasgow Wood build quality furniture and accessories alongside working on bespoke enquiries and much larger projects for home, businesses and social sector organisations. They also sell a huge range of reclaimed timber at affordable prices and, also collects wood waste from local homes and businesses. This wood waste is gathered and sorted for reuse, and using reclaimed scaffold boards they sell indoor and outdoor furniture which is available bespoke or ready for sale in the Bay F retail space.
Throughout all of these business activities, they also improve the wellbeing of the community by providing all sorts of valuable training and volunteer opportunities to locals, as a solution for unemployment and social exclusion.
