The founder, Alan McEwen is a qualified engineer and the former managing director of a specialist heritage engineering company H.A. McEwen (Boiler Repairs) Ltd. The company, now owned and operated by Alan’s son Alasdair, also specialises in the repair and installation of industrial and heritage steam boiler plant.

Regular stock includes antique stone troughs, millstones, gargoyles, grindstones, bird baths, staddle stones, stone gate posts, sundials, garden urns, statues, standing stones, reclaimed walling stone, antique ironwork, old iron ploughs, gates, water pumps, lamp posts, hayracks, iron wheels, rainwater hoppers, industrial and engineering pieces, steam engines and boilers. Large lumps of new stone are also available.
