Large antique cast iron fire insert

A large french 19th century cast iron insert with repeating diamond shaped floral decoration. Although originally an insert this would make a great fire surround in its own right(simply by plastering up to the edge?) with a dog grate or basket to complete.
Dimensions in inches/cms: overall-53/137 wide by 38.75/98, opening - 32.75/83 wide by 29/73 high.
