W T Ellison & Co Salvaged Metal Turnstile
£ 1,500 each inc VAT
Quantity in stock: 1
A glorious 20th century W T Ellison turnstile with a working pedal-release operating mechanism and paddles. Ellison’s made turnstiles for football, cricket and rugby grounds as well as racecourse, swimming pools and amusement parks. The inset brass counter in the top enabled grounds to tally the count with their takings and know when capacity had been reached. It also proudly advocates their patented ‘Rush Preventive’ mechanism. 100 Ellinson turn styles were installed in the original Wembley Stadium in the 1920s. A great piece of social history that could be refurbished or used in its current condition for that authentic period touch – or become part of a vintage sports collection.
