Antique Riveted "Quencher" Tank / Log Bin

Great quality very large antique galvanised / zinc plated iron tank of riveted construction with angled sides, handles and sitting on a reinforced cross strapped base and disc feet. Big shiny rivets! The largest one i have owned or seen in this model.
Made by DAVIES BROS & CO LTD, WOLVERHAMPTON (and bearing an oval brass makers label with this information and the founding date 1838). English, late 19th/early 20th century. The firm was one of the first hot dip galvanising companies in the world.
In very good condition with no oil. Solid. The base is still strong and thick but isn't completely flat. It has been cleaned, polished and clear waxed outside. The inside has been cleaned of loose rust.
It would of course make a great fireside log bin and will store a good quantity of wood.

26.75"/68cm depth at top (23"/58cm depth at base) .
24”/61cm tall.
