Monastery doors stolen from Greece
Stolen from Paliouria, Grevena, Greece in August 2004.
A pair of carved SANCTUARY DOORS and upper SCREEN PANEL, part of the templon. The doors, 165cm by 70cm, are carved with rosettes, flowers, lions head, acantha, the Virgin, Gabriel and two saints on horses. The screen panel, 67cm by 30cm, has a shield, griffins, acantha, rosettes and birds eating leaves.
